Whamcloud is leading community efforts to complete the Lustre 2.1 release. Beyond that, future Whamcloud Lustre 2.x releases are planned as NRE development currently in progress is completed and landed. Whamcloud will also issue bugfix only releases on the designated maintenance release stream. Presently this is the 1.8.x codeline but this is expected to switch to a 2.x release stream later in 2011.
