If you have questions about Lustre and you're not sure where to find answers, there are many places to look. In a way, it's like an onion - there are many layers, and it's best to start from the outside and work your way in. Here a quick peeling to illustrate the steps to find answers to your Lustre questions:
1. Always check the latest documentation. It is available from this link:

The manual changes from time to time, and is not released in sync with the binaries, so you might want to bookmarking the link above.
2. If the manual doesn't suffice, you can find additional information on this Wiki:

3. If the Wiki doesn't suffice, a frequently used and effective solution is to Google your question and see what the Lustre mailing lists have discussed on that topic. There are many years of Lustre mailing list archives, and your question may have been asked before.
4. If Googling the mailing list archives doesn't answer your question, you can get in touch with the Lustre developers directly (and for free) using the High Performance Data Division (HPDD) mailing list. As the core of Lustre is vast, nobody knows the entire scope in detail, but Intel HPDD does have a very active mailing list; participants include the Lustre Developers as well as the Lustre Administrators and Architects throughout the Lustre Community. More often than not, the mailing list is the best way to get answers to Lustre questions.

5. Should you find issues, or need new functionality added to a feature, or perhaps even need a new feature, you can use Jira to submit a request:
